Just back from a tour with Steve of ECMT & fellow biker Chris, my 2nd with ECMT. Another briliant week, can't speak highly enough of the tour, i'm 70, been biking for 10 years, if you have any doubts or apprehension about trying it don't worry you'll be looked after brilliantly, guaranteed . The roads and views are amazing, accommodation is excellent & Salobrena a perfect base for the tour. Steve's all round knowledge, experience & easy going nature is a credit to him, give it a try you won't regret it.

This trip was the bees knees start to finish! Awesome country, incredible riding with a spectacular host. The accommodations at the enchanting Hostal complemented the tour perfectly. Steve is a remarkable source of information and history. For me it was much more than simply a motorcycle tour.

(I owe a big thanks to Dave, George, Neil and Renny as well)

Wondering whether to book a Tour with ECMT?

Just back after a superb five days with Steve and his well-maintained fleet of bikes. His local knowledge makes all the difference: destinations, routes, roads all paced to match weather and rider experience. And he knows some really good cafés and restaurants, too, for authentic local gastro-touring. Plus great accomodation at the Hostal San Juan in Salobrena: super clean and comfortable (thanks, Sebastian!)

    Do it.

Thanks Steve for a truly wonderful 5 days riding from our Salobrena hostal. Everything is catered for from airport transfers, to comfortable clean accommodation to well serviced and presented Enfields.

Steve’s knowledge of the local area means an extensive range of routes and excellent cafes and inexpensive restaurants offering a vast range of local dishes.

If you want a relaxed break riding 200km daily routes into the mountains on EFI 500 Royal Enfields, then Steve is your man. We are already planning a return next year!

A friend and II have just returned from an Enfield Classic Tour

What a great tour. The bikes are very well maintained and are perfect for the type of riding you will encounter on this tour. Steve (the company owner) is a brilliant guide allowing people to ride at their own speed. He will stop every time we need to turn off a road and allow anyone who needs to the catch up. If he feels that the group is getting a little stretched he will slow down so everyone can regroup. He will also stop every time we need to turn off a road and allow anyone who needs to the catch up.

Steve certainly knows the area well and takes you down many roads you would struggle to find yourself. We began riding each day at 9.30 and arrived back at base at about 6.30 in the evening. Riding was steady with 2 coffee stops and a lunch break. This is a non stress tour although on occasion you do need a head for heights!

Accommodation is about 2 minutes walk from where the bikes are kept. It is a Spanish Hostel and is very clean and well maintained. The owner, Sebastian, is very friendly and eager to help. The Hostel is within easy walking distance of restaurants, cafes and bars.

We both really enjoyed the tour and hope to return one day.

    Thanks again, Steve

    Sue Topham (Thursday, 27 October 2022 14:59)

Our second trip with Steve and I would highly recommend it! As pillion once again I had the pleasure of seeing the wonderful scenery in more detail than my fellow riders. Traversing the Sierra Nevada on both routes was stunning and I particularly enjoyed the Tabernas dessert and Gaudix. What impressed me most was Steve's attention to detail for all riders and me as a pillion, noticing when I in particular was struggling and needed a break. He found wonderful taverns and restaurants that we would never have discovered without him and his guiding, historical knowledge and route knowledge was awesome.
This trip had been delayed due to Covid but it was well worth the wait and we are already planning our next trip! Many thanks Steve

Been long time waiting for this trip because of all the covid lock downs, so I was really pleased to learn that Steve the owner and guide was still running the trips. We had good communication regarding what to bring and where to meet up at the airport and we were picked up promptly. The Hotel we stayed in was nice and clean and central in the town, unfortunately no breakfast but several local cafes in the area all friendly people.
We did the 5-day local tour and each day was a great mixture of stunning scenery, great roads and some challenging bends. We stopped for coffee in the morning, a meal at lunch time and coffee in the afternoon, all the restaurants and cafes were in fantastic settings and the food was great and good value.
    A really brilliant experience.

    Andy (Sunday, 19 April 2020 23:46)

"We took the 5 day tour in March 2020, it was my three brothers, son & nephew so 6 of us all together. I'd talked to one of my brothers about doing a southern Spain tour some time ago & last year he sent the link to Enfield Classic Moto Tours, it sounded perfect but I was a little apprehensive going from a sports bike to a Royal Enfield but felt the slower pace would be good especially in the mountains. Steve the owner is a top guy as well as one of the nicest people you could meet, sorting out the trip with him was easy with excellent communication & he really cares & looks after his customers!

We arrived on 11th March & got the organised 8 seater to the hotel at Salobrena from Málaga airport which is about an 80 min journey. The hotel we stayed at was a small typically Spanish one which was very comfortable clean & tidy, Steve was there to meet us & get us checked in with tips where to go that evening. There isn't any breakfast provided but this is no problem as plenty of small cafes serving breakfast nearby.

The next day we met our bikes & Steve took us out on the first of our mountain rides in the Sierra Nevada, I cannot say how fantastic it was, fabulous scenery, great roads & stopping at small tavernas in mountains for drinks along the way with a restaurant thrown in for lunch.

How wrong was I to be apprehensive about the bikes, they were great fun to ride so much so that when I got home I traded my Honda CBR600F for a Royal Enfield Himalayan & I love it!

The other 2 full days of riding were equally as good, I'm addicted & will be looking to go again next year...it was simple a truly fantastic experience from beginning to end.

So if this is what you're looking for, you've found it, Steve is the host with the most & has excellent knowledge of the ea with the best roads.

    Top marks"

This trip turned out to be the best possible way to prepare for a difficult year ahead.
Steve could not have been more attentive and provided tours in the most stunning scenery. Some of the views just take your breath away!
The bikes are all prepared with care and well maintained. Steve has a real in depth knowledge of Enfield's and is happy to discuss any questions you may have about the marque.
The accommodation provided was superb and the holiday far exceeded my expectations.

Dave and Trish King NZ (Sunday, 12 January 2020 08:40)

We did the Sierra and Costas tour in November 2018, adding an extra three days to go to San Jose and Velefique where we had seen an awesome road of twists and turns 16kms long - so much fun! Steve gladly added this at very little extra cost. The Enfields were a delight to ride and the scenery spectacular!! Steve's local knowledge was great as he pointed out lots of things we would have not seen doing it ourselves. The Guesthouse was lovely and roomy and close to the shops. The bikes a lot of fun to ride and some bigger bikes probably would have struggled on some of the tight twisty roads. Definitely recommend you do one of the tours and we will probably go back for another visit. Steve is a genuine guy, very friendly and easy to get along with. The roads were all sealed and we found them easy enough to ride.

Stunning views with great company. Literally not for the faint hearted where heights are concerned, so be advised. We stopped at interesting places and Steve was always available to interpret and explain things to us. Exciting 200km rides everyday for the diehards that love winding roads. Accommodation was comfortable, clean and close to amenities.

Well, another good'un, many thanks for a great tour.
A different dynamic this time in the group but none the worse for that, everyone enjoyed it immensely, all said the best roads they have ever seen and thought the relaxed yet enjoyable way you operate the tour made for a great time.
I think you'll be hearing from them and their friends again for sure.
Gail's already looking at testing and hopefully buying the Enfield bullet "dark" model from our local dealer and Dave's looking at a few on eBay!
Personally, although not everyone preferred the Intercepter I loved it and look forward to riding it again.
Once again thank you for a great all round package, I really enjoy coming over there and absorbing some of that lifestyle.
    Very best wishes,
    Colin

    Tony (Saturday, 19 October 2019 16:50)

I was asked what would I like to do in my 60th year to mark the occasion.
I thought I love Mountains and dreamed of riding a motorbike along the winding roads.
But to ride a Classic Royal Enfield Bullet was the icing on the cake.
So I booked 7 days tour with Enfield Classic Moto Tours.
What an amazing time I had. Steve was a great tour guide taking me on twisty mountain roads and stopping for drinks and lunch in the mountain village taverna's. He also stopped at various points of interest describing the past history.
The complete experience was fantastic and went well beyond my expectations.
After every ride I couldn’t stop smiling, what an amazing day.
Thank you Steve for making my wish come true.

    Sue (Friday, 18 October 2019 21:30)

Having done thousands of miles as a pillion on a 1200 Tenere, I was curious as to what it would be like to be a pillion on a 500 single. Well I needn't have worried! In fact my back preferred it! It had plenty of poke and I got to the chance to look at all the amazing scenery. Steve was awesome, numerous breaks for coffee, viewpoints and leisurely lunches (we even managed a swim!). The weather was amazing and I have to admit I was sad that we had only booked 3 days riding. So if you're wondering whether to join Enfield Classic Moto Tours as a pillion, than as long as you are happy with hairpin bends and you trust your rider, then just sit back, relax and enjoy the ride! And a big thanks from all of us from Gordon Convoy 2!

Absolutely first-class throughout, from admin & organisation, airport transfers and accommodation to the riding......., which was fabulous. Steve (the owner) showed us around some stunning countryside along outstanding roads and on bikes that were ideal for the task. This is the first time in 50 years of riding that I've hired a bike, but I'm now sold on the idea of getting quickly by air to where you want to be and then spending the time you have there. I'll certainly be doing it again. Absolutely recommended.

A great day in the saddle

ECMT is a superb operation and a wonderful experience, one that I would recommend to any motorcyclist. Steve, the owner of ECMT, was my guide and he went to great lengths to ensure that I had a safe and enjoyable time. The mountain roads he led me down were absolutely thrilling to ride, full of winding turns overlooking the beautiful Sierra Nevada mountains. In addition, Steve also showed me around several small, picturesque mountain towns, where we stopped for breakfast, lunch and even a chocolate tasting! Steve has an extensive knowledge of the region and tailors tours to meet his guests needs and riding abilities. In addition, he's just a great guy to hangout with. This is a five star experience to be sure and one that I plan to comeback for someday. Keep up the great work Steve!

    John & Carole Keighley (Tuesday, 18 June 2019 12:37)

Our Enfield Classic Moto Tour exceeded our expectations, right from the seamless pick up and transfer from the airport to the end of our riding week, we ended with big smiles on our faces.
We were riding two up and straight off Steve offered us the chance to ride the new 650 Interceptor twin, which was an unexpected bonus. The bike has a modern feel to it with a good spread of power, which made it easy for us to catch up if we got split up at roundabouts and junctions etc, as you sometimes do when riding at the back of the group.
We stayed in a very nice first floor apartment at the other end of town to the main guest house, as this was fully booked. The apartments are very well equipped and comfortable and the fridge was stocked with everything we needed for breakfast, fantastic! At the end of the first day we discovered the roof top pool with fantastic views of the surrounding country side, double bonus.
We rode the Interceptor for two days then switched to a EFI classic style Bullet to give others in the group a chance to try the Interceptor.
The Bullet has a classic single feel, with a willing motor well able to cope with two up riding and it has to be said more comfortable than the Interceptor.
The days rides were brilliant, lots of twisty well surfaced mountain roads with fantastic scenery, frequent stops to take in the views and points of interest, relax with a coffee and get to know the others in the group, Steve being an excellent host, guide and great company.
The lunch stops were always well chosen with lunch taken at a leisurely pace, before setting off to arrive back at base in time to catch an hour or two relaxing by the pool with a well earned drink, marvelous.
Thanks Steve Monica and Ron. We had a blast!

Just returned from a tour around the Cazorla National Park. I have been on a ECMT before so knew what to expect and wasn't dissapointed. Interesting comfortable accommodation, marvellous roads ridden on the bullets at a pace ideal to absorb the scenery and take plenty of photo's, fabulous food and good company.
Steve's local knowledge was invaluable in finding the real Spain.
Thankyou Steve and Monica for a great tour.

Just back from spending a very enjoyable 5 days with Steve and ECMT , The roads the bike and the company were great .Steve has a wealth of knowledge of the area and excellent routes and runs worked out. As a tall guy and my wife as pillion I found the bike very good ,comfortable and torquey for the roads . A nice pace with a few coffee breaks, good food and sunshine made for a great few days biking and nice comfortable accommodation each evening ,I definitely will be back again .

I was looking for a weeks early April holiday exploring Spain so booked for the Classic Local 5 day tour. As southern Spain is a long ride from England on two wheels, flying to Malaga and hiring a classic bike ticked all my holiday boxes.
This turned out to be an excellent decision, Steve was a great host and guided us on a different and interesting tour each day. There was no rush with plenty of time to take in the scenery, collect some great photos and explore the local culture. Each day we had a coffee stop mid-morning, lunch stop and afternoon coffee stop, all in little off the beaten track local villages.
The bikes were ideal with plenty of torque for the mountain roads which were in excellent condition with no potholes!
If you are looking for a relaxing motorcycle touring holiday, taking in mountain roads with stunning views, eating in local bars and restaurants and enjoying local food in the presence of good company then this I can recommend.
Thank you Steve I had a great time

Where do I start?! I’ll admit I was a little apprehensive before embarking on my first proper overseas bike tour - mainly due to the riding on the wrong side of the road business but I need not have worried!
Steve was the best guide we could have hoped for, knowledgable, accommodating and understanding with everyone’s individual needs.
The riding was fantastic, spectacular views and many hidden gems - loved the bike, felt so safe and comfortable on it and it certainly made the trip all the more enjoyable.
Sincere thanks Steve from all of us Gordon Convoy.

    Morning Steve

Quick and bleary eyed note to thank you again for this last week. Uncomplicated, educational and stonking riding. Perfect blend in an outstanding location. Pulled the helmet on each day and didn't have a care in the world.

    Good evening Steve,
Just a line to say how much we all enjoyed our tour, Phils not stopped talking about it! The whole thing was brilliant and as good as it gets, but, a tour is only as good as the guy in charge and in that respect I thank you for your knowledge, patience and understanding in respect of Row and Will, and general great company. The craic about bikes and music I particularly enjoyed.
Thank you for everything, and though I guess everyone says this, you will see us again.
    Best regards

Have you ever been in a far off country basking in beautiful sunshine and thinking? “It would be great to go out for a ride on my bike”! The only problem is that your bike is in the garage 2-3,000 miles away!

Well if you have, Enfield Classic Moto Tours has the answer! What a break from the dreary February weather in the U.K. - mild days, dry weather and the open road! So deserted compared with the crowded U.K.

Steve is a very easygoing, competent guide, you have no worries about navigation. Just enjoy the ride and let him show you the wonderful roads and scenery of the area. Down to the Mediterranean Sea and up to over 2,000 meters in the Sierra Nevada, sample the local cuisine to.

I can’t recommend it more, especially if you are into classic motorcycles, the 500 Bullet is a great compromise. The twisty mountainous roads are a great playground.

HQ. bed and breakfast is comfortable enough. I say give it a try if you like riding motorbikes, you will not regret it!

    Paul (Sunday, 10 February 2019 12:11)

I have just returned from a fantastic week, touring the mountains and coastal areas in Southern Spain with Steve Percy at ECMT. The tricky part of writing this review is where to start, as it was such a great all-round experience, but here goes, anyway...
The area is incredibly diverse. High alpine scenery one day, tropical the next - and everything in between. Amazing in such a relatively small area.
The roads are excellent. Mile after mile of twisty mountain roads, sweeping coastal routes and the occasional dual carriageway or bit of motorway. Mostly very well surfaced and relatively free of traffic.
The RE bikes are perfect for the area. Bags of torque, light, manoeuvrable, full of character and very well maintained. I enjoyed the bike I rode so much that I'm thinking of buying one myself.
The accommodation is very comfortable, well maintained, spacious and perfectly placed for access to the local town and amenities.
If you're into food and wine (who isn't) this area doesn't disappoint. Great local food at various bodegas, restaurants and cafes on the routes - and lots of choice of bars etc near the guesthouse for evenings.
All good so far then - but what really made the holiday so memorable for me was having a guide that knows his stuff, loves the area and is genuinely committed to ensuring a great experience for people on the tours. Steve is a thoroughly likeable bloke with immense local knowledge (not just roads - also flora & fauna, local customs, landmarks, agriculture, architecture, etc etc. Note: Ask Steve about the zigzag lines on mountain roads - you'll love the answer!).
I was also impressed by his very professional approach to safety - briefing on, and/or pointing out potential hazards en route and gauging the pace of the rides perfectly.
So to sum up: this was more than just a great biking experience. It was an adventure - experiencing 'the real' Spain and having a laugh at the same time. 100 percent recommended. Thanks again Steve, you haven't seen the last of me and I will try to remember turning my indicators off more frequently on the next tour!

We did the 8 day tour and what a fantastic time!! First time riding an Enfield and it was perfect for the roads we were on. Steve has loads of knowledge
on the areas history, great eating places, interesting things to see & roads
with every type of bend you can think of..sweeping.. tight..hairpin...elbow!
Andalucia has beautiful scenery and found the roads & ( the nearly roads) great. The guest house was perfect in a cool little town with everthing you need close by. Would love to go back for more!

Just back from a 7 day Classic Local Tour with Steve in the lead. Absolutely fantastic, great company and the Bullet 500 Electra trials version I used ran like a dream. Steve paced it just right, gradually increasing speed as the week went on. The 'road of a thousand curves' we rode on the last day was awesome, sweeping curve after after curve with a few hairpin bends thrown in, all on smooth new tarmac with no potholes! It's not just a bike ride it's a tour of one of the prettiest and most dramatic parts of Spain. Quaint mountain villages for coffee breaks and excellent lunch stops. Lots of interesting places to visit - wine tasting (sips) in a Bodega and chocolate samples in a tiny chocolate factory! I'm booking again for next year.

What a fantastic 3 days with Steve Martyn and Dave. Bikes were great ideal for the roads (which were excellent). Had a smile on my face from the start of the tour untill the end, which came too soon. Steve took us to some great places no tourists just Spain as it should be. Accommodation great, food amazing (some fantastic fish dishes). Dave Cullen (Friday, 03 August 2018 11:03)

Just back from 3 days riding with Steve, Martyn and Richard in what was a fantastic experience.
Firstly thanks again Steve for showing me this beautiful part of Spain and looking after us so well, the mountain roads and scenery were truly out of this world, and I couldn't believe how good the roads were, only very very rarely was there anything that resembled our pot hole strewn excuses for an infrastructure.
The Enfields were a revelation to me, they really were perfect for this tour, not too heavy, nice and torquey and able to keep up a 100kph cruise for the very short part we were on the autovia, sorry I blew the exhaust gasket, must have been these backfires I was trying to achieve through the villages!
Due to the guesthouse being full, Steve had us booked into a small hotel in Salobrena not far from him, it was spotless, and close to all the bars etc, there were lovely restaurants up the hill towards the Moorish castle, a lot easier coming down with a few beers inside you.
Thank you Richard and Martyn for being such good company, sorry Martyn but we Scots like a beer or six, hope you are back on the straight and narrow.
A wonderful break, I definitely hope to be back next year, thank you
    Dave

We had booked a week in early June 2018 with EnfieldClassicMototours. Steve picked us up from the airport. From the minute we started talking 'Bullets' we were friends. Every morning we could not wait to hear the sound of his bike. Riding a bike in the Sierra Nevada is pure bliss. Maneuvering hair-bend curves grinning like an idiot, lunching at remote mountain village tapa bars and listening to Steve's stories.... I could do it all again, tomorrow. Highly recommended!

Beginning of June, my friend Andi and me enjoyed a trip of 3 days riding with Steve and we both were really overwhelmed by this experience and outstanding impressions. Although being familiar with biking in the mountains from at home in Austria, it felt completely different by offering this variety from the tropical Costa del Sol to the snow-covered top of the Sierra Nevada, touching areas that most probably you would never discover as a tourist.
Thanks to Steve it felt like spending time together with a local friend and also the accommodation in Velez made us feel being at home.
Looking forward to coming back for another trip!

A MUST DO TRIP FOR ALL BIKE ENTHUSIASTS! Delighted that we booked with E.C.M.T. Steve and the team are professional, friendly and very knowledgable of the area, catering for everything you need to make your experience the very best it can be. Accommodation, airport transfers, Royal Enfields, touring routes on superb roads-all top class. A real authentic experience of the Andalucian area includes dining out in traditional restaurants. June 11 to 17 Trip

I did the 5 day ride in Spain. It was exactly what I was looking for. Steve is a great guide and is able to understand your needs and accommodate you as best as possible. He knows the area very well and takes you on roads and parts of Spain only locals know about. The scenery is amazing and the roads are perfect. I wish I had a go pro camera for the ride to experience it over and over.

The stop in Granada is a great break from the riding. The Al-Hambra palace was nice to visit and Steve does his best to get you entrance early morning to avoid the large buses of tourist that show up later. After that you get to experience an Arabic bath. It was one of the best Spa experiences I've had.

The Bikes are well maintained and are just the right size and power for the roads. The guest house is clean and located perfectly in the town. Its a quick 5 minutes walk to everything you would need.

100% recommend this to anyone who enjoys winding roads and switchbacks for a challenge. It is the best way to see Spain as it really is.

Myself and my Dad went for 5 days and what a fantastic 5 days we had! A great balance between off road and on road riding on excellent bikes. Steve was a very friendly and easy to get along with guide who was very knowledgeable of the area and very responsive to our ability and what sort of riding we wanted to do. The accommodation provided was a lovely place, very clean and walking distance to local bars for a well deserved cold beer and tapas after a long riding day. Spain has some of the most interesting rides with views that will leave you breathless. 100% would recommend this to anyone and would love to come back to do this again!!

This has to be the best way to spend, what was a much needed holiday, a great tour of the incredibly interesting and beautiful Sierra Nevada, and wider Andalusian region of southern Spain, with a great guide like Steve, you can maximise your time, by not missing a lot of the hidden gems this area has to offer.
The 500cc Royal Enfields motorcycles still have the character of an old British Single, with the perfect power/weight ratio for the mountain roads, and I found them very comfortable.
For me this was my first time on any type of organised bike tour, but it was so hassle free and enjoyable, from airport transfers, to the accommodation and the bikes, I now hope to make it on Steves Moroccan tour sometime soon.
This has to be the best way to treat yourself to something a bit special.
Thanks for a great holiday Steve, until the next time.

I decided to do something memorable for my 40th birthday and like the 5 stars I rated this experience it surely ticked all the boxes. I would encourage anyone who is considering it to give it a go. Steve is a brilliant guide and a proper biker, who has the experience to select routes that suit the riders capabilities. Personally I have been riding bikes for 23 yrs now and have rode in Europe but this is ideal, fly to Spain and get more time to do the miles in the stunning mountains of Andalucia and surounding areas. I'll definetly go back to try another tour!

    Fantastic tour!
Thank you Steve for guiding us around on a day-tour in the beautiful Andalusia. All our wishes came true. Steve asked us how we wanted the tour, and he could deliver a tour with great scenery and stops whenever we needed something to eat and drink. The Enfield brought us 250 km around the good Spanish roads up and down, through hundreds of sharp curves. We visited the 2.000 meter point, chocolate factory and many nice viewpoints. Steve is a good guide and we can strongly recommend this tour.

Thanks Steve and Monica for a great classic aventura. The winding tarmac was a joy to ride on, virtually free of traffic and combined with miles of goat tracks gave me the opportunity to explore the hidden beauty of Spain.
The bikes were ideal for the terrain being powerful enough to easily cope with anything the mountains could ask of them, yet light enough to be ridden all day with ease and Steve's local knowledge of roads, tracks and places to eat certainly added to the experience

Mile after mile of winding mountain roads with a symphony of Enfields thudding uphill, purring downhill. Dramatic cloudscapes, not a drop of rain in 5 days, mucho sol even in February. Hillsides of almond trees with striking pink blossom, a heavily-loaded mule being led through narrow streets in a village high in the mountains. Stopped at the roadside to allow three hundred goats to pass on their way to milking. Rode to Alpujarras region, bought “Thousand Wild Flowers” honey & goat’s milk cheese in Trevelez, highest village in Spain. Sampled chocolate made on the premises. Crusty bread, freshly squeezed orange juice, fried patatas, gourmet menus, chicken ‘n chips was good, too. Cork trees, turpentine tree plantations, rough track to a restaurant known only to the locals. Ride to ski slopes in bright sunshine. Snow-capped mountains, Roman bridge, Arabic history

    ……and thudding, purring Enfields

    Muchas gracias Steve!
